Frustrated

Last Thursday I flew to Miami and hung out and then from there took a cruise to the Bahamas.  Some where in between disbarking from the Port of Miami and docking in Nassau my cell phone got stuck on some cell tower and has become untraceable. Four other people traveling with me have the same carrier and have not encountered any problems.  My cell carrier has made several attempts to correct the issues but has not found a solution.  I am totally frustrated.  I can't make/recieve calls or send text messages. Long story short, the only thing my phone does is turn off/on.  I feel totally disabled and crippled without my phone.  Saying I'm frustrated is a total understatement.

  1. That must be painful being without a working call phone that far from home. Most people are completely crippled when their phone goes haywire, since they basically can do anything now, and are used for everything. At least your carrier is trying to fix the problem.

  2. Yes, it was painful. I like most people have become so dependent upon my cell phone. It is so useful and convenient in both my personal and professional life.

After 6 days I was back in business. My cell carrier could not find a fix. They said it was a very unique situation that they have not encountered. Long story they had to terminate my service and then reactivate it with another phone.

    I feel whole again!

  3. I have not experienced that problem at all. That certainly is a strange situation. For me, cell phones are practically annoying, although I own one. Basically, some people just can't stop calling me more than once within a fifteen minute period. However, I do use my phone for many things, such as email and ebook reading. I am glad everything was fixed.

  4. They never really fixed the problem, I had to purchase another phone. My cell phone carrier said it was a very unique situation, one that they don't recall encountering more than a time or 2.

I agree cell phones can be annoying at times. Especially in cases where people fail to put them on vibrate or silent and the ring at the most inappropriate time. My phone is always set to vibrate during business hours. My new phone has convenient feature that allows me to ignore with a text message. The messages are preformatted and say things like can talk right now in a meeting, driving can't talk.
